Developing A Yoga Practice While Living With Chronic Pain

Chronic pain sucks, and those of us living with the hidden illnesses that cause chronic pain know the vicious circle of not wanting to move yet acknowledging that movement greatly diminishes the pain sensations. And it’s not just the pain. It’s also the side effects of exhaustion, weakness, and mood swings, to name a few.

This program gives you the opportunity to work in a group as well as one on one with Tamara to discuss and develop what works for your body, your pain levels, and your practice. This program will give you the knowledge and comfort level to make daily and appropriate decisions for your practice regardless of your pain levels.

We will work with breath, gentle practices, space-making practices, and a variety of meditations to develop a personal yoga practice that fits your life. We will also discuss individual variations of the shapes as well as the benefits of props such as blocks, bolsters, and chairs.

This program does not claim to cure chronic pain, but instead helps you develop yoga tools for your pain management toolbox. You are encouraged to check with your doctor prior to registration.

This is a one-on-one program and is scheduled at the time of registration.

Program includes
.: an introductory chat to discuss expectations and goals
.: a 90 minute in person private practice, either in The Yoga Yurt (Jordan Falls) or The Yoga Room (Shelburne)
