We all know that chair yoga is amazing for those who may have mobility issues or those looking for a gentler practice, but did you know a chair can also be used to take your practice deeper?
When we use a chair as a prop to support our shapes, we can take our bodies deeper without fear of falling. We also use this support to hold shapes longer, giving us time to deconstruct the poses, discuss modifications, and explore our practice. Using a chair as a prop also offers us opportunities to explore shapes we may not normally consider, such as backbends or long lunges.
During these 10 sessions we will do all this and more, starting with simple gentle shapes (think forward folds and sitting there!), working our way into balances, deep lunges, and even exploring those backbends. We will also use the chair to assist us in opening and strengthening our bodies and breath.
