The Ger (Yurt)
Practicing in the ger...
Practicing in the yurt is an awesome experience, but it's also a new experience for us and we ask for your patience while we work out the kinks.
The main thing to keep in mind is that you are, more or less, practicing outside with all that that implies.
The main door is often open and the toono (dome window) uncovered to some extent. The floor is basic wood, so a yoga mat is recommend.
We are a rural property and, as such, the ger is nestled at the edge of the woods, behind an old apple tree. You will need to cross the back lawn to reach it.
Some days, the ger may be chilly. When required a fire will be lit one hour prior to class to take the chill off, but we do recommend wearing layers, even in summer - even if only for savasana, our final resting posture. Please keep in mind that everyone's body temperature differs, so "required" is relative.
